Workshop Materials in art (+14)
Thursday, May 19, 6:00 pm - 7:45 pm
A latex dress, wooden chairs, a plastic orthopedic leg, bronze spiders, used bedding, mirrors and ladders all form part of the iconography of Bourgeois, one of modern and contemporary art’s great artists. But, does anything go when creating? And today, what materials are used? We’ll create our own cells by reusing materials from former installations kept in our storerooms.
Workshop From Fabrics to Stitches (+18)
Thursday, June 2, 6:00 pm - 7:45 pm
The art of weaving was part of Louise Bourgeois’ childhood, and these restorative stitches can be seen in many of her works. Discover the work of several other 20th and 21st century artists who use textiles in their pieces and dare to discover the “magic power of the needle” as Bourgeois liked to say.
